South coast Familiarisation

The South coast of Cornwall is one of the UK’s greatest natural boating treasures but is also a  busy commercial boating area. New motor boat & RIB owners are often wary of venturing too far, tending to favour destinations that they are familiar with. We have all felt this way at FMC when we started boating.

FMC would like to invite any new boat owners to join us on our South coast exploration cruises. A day or possibly two exploring the many treasures that these relatively protected waters have to offer. Our experienced lead skipper will guide you to some of the best destinations for lunch or coffee whilst at anchor, on a buoy or alongside.

These days are purely about helping boaters gain experience and confidence so that they can enjoy their boating to the full.

These are Non-RYA certified exploration days.

Pre-course experience Candidates should be competent to the standard of RYA Powerboat Level 2. 

Assumed knowledge A good understanding of their boats systems. 

Minimum duration 1 day 

Minimum age 16 years 

Days Activities 

• Brief and Coffee

• Discuss program for the day?

• Depart for tour 1000 Approx.

• Tour of the South coast.

• Return to Fowey 1700 Approx.

• Debrief of days event.

Ability after the course To have the confidence to explore and to enjoy the delights of the many great destinations the South coast has to offer.
