Classroom Skill Building

Whilst the RYA syllabus offers a number of theory, navigation and support courses to complement their practical certificates sometimes students need a refresher of their certificated knowledge or learn how to use electronic equipment in a more practical setting.

FMC have invested in a radar and electronic navigation simulation system which will provide students with opportunities to understand and use Radar and GPS from the comfort of the classroom.  For those wanting to work in the Marine Industry this can also be used as an introduction into ECDIS.

FMC also recognise that if it has been a while since you gained your RYA Theory and Navigation certificates you may need a refresher before your next practical course or before you venture out on the water.  We have put together 2-day Theory refresher courses for RYA Day Skipper and RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster which generally run before the practical courses but can be attended by students just wanting to refresh their knowledge.
