A skill building and / or refresher day for those who have previously completed the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course.

Ideal if:
It has been a while since you completed your Level 2 course and you want a refresher.
You want to bareboat charter and need a refresher on close quarter manoeuvring, using tides to berth, berthing etc.

• you want to move through the RYA Powerboat syllabus and need some additional training before moving on

• you want to gain more experience in driving ribs in rougher weather,

• you want to experience different tidal conditions

• you want to visit different Marina’s

• you want to gain some night experience to help you move through the RYA Powerboat Syllabus

Pre-course experience Candidates must hold an RYA Powerboat level 2 certificate.* 

Assumed knowledge It is recommended that the candidate holds an RYA VHF License.

Course content 

This is effectively your day so the day can be tailored to whatever both you and your instructor feel needs covering and can include:

South coast Familiarisation
Night familiarisation or navigation
Rough Weather Handling
Refresher of RYA PB level 2 or Intermediate Syllabi
Boat Handling
MoB Procedure
Planing Speed manouvers
Anchoring
Picking up a buoy
Pilotage and Passage planning

After the course  You should be much more confident in all aspects of boat handling .
